This in-person event is an opportunity to come together to remember and celebrate loved ones affected by brain cancer: We know beating brain cancer requires the power of the whole community.

Whether you wish to participate in a 5k or 10k walk or run or even a 1k Kids Fun Run, all net proceeds will be directed to brain cancer research, neuro-technology and promising treatments.

Who is Jayne?

In the summer of 2020, Jayne Lynde, was diagnosed with Glioblastoma (GBM), the same type of brain cancer that claimed the life of Gord Downie, the lead singer of The Tragically Hip, in 2017. Jayne underwent two surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation. She was supported by her team of doctors at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto and Equilibrium Healthcare Solutions in Bowmanville.

Jayne has been the face behind the Jayne Lynde Fundraiser (and the Run for Jayne) since 2020. From the time of her diagnosis, Jayne’s family and friends have not only advocated for brain cancer but have also raised thousands of dollars for research through events like the Ride for Jayne and the Run for Jayne.

Sadly, Jayne passed away on April 10, 2023. Like all our warriors, she, and her family, fought tirelessly while remaining positive and proactive. While Jayne may no longer be with us, her memory will remain a source of inspiration to us all.
